According to Football Insider, Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town are the latest club interested in signing the 2013 Fifa U17 World Cup Golden Ball winner.

Iheanacho transfer: Aston Villa to sign Leicester striker

Ipswich scored a whopping 92 goals in the English Championship last term, making them the most prolific team in the division but had no standout goal-scoring forward.

Conor Chaplin and Nathan Broadhead were the club’s top scorers last season with 13 goals apiece with former Chelsea forward Omari Hutchison joining the pair as the only players to have registered double digit for goals last term.

With the lack of a prolific goalscorer, the Tractor Boys are in the market for a new forward and Iheanacho is on their radar based on his quality and his Premier League experience, a scarce quality in Kieran McKenna’s side.

Aston Villa are also another side that have been credited with an interest in the 2013 Fifa U17 World Cup winner but a move to the Portman Road Stadium could be more beneficial.

He would play second fiddle to Ollie Watkins at Villa Park while he stands a good chance of becoming the first choice at Ipswich Town.

Both Ipswich Town and Burnley have benefitted from summer switch but Clarets are true winners: View

  • Burnley prepares for Championship season with new head coach Scott Parker after manager Vincent Kompany’s departure.
  • Muric’s move to Ipswich for a sizeable fee clears the path for Vaclav Hladky to join Burnley and excel in goal.
  • The potential sale of James Trafford could bring in a significant windfall, allowing Burnley to secure another quality goalkeeper.

Burnley are preparing for life back in the Championship following their relegation from the Premier League.

It was an incredibly disappointing season for the Clarets last term as they were relegated from the top flight with a total of just 24 points, but despite their struggles, manager Vincent Kompany made a shock move to German giants Bayern Munich in May.

After a lengthy search for Kompany’s successor, Scott Parker was named as the club’s new head coach earlier this month, and the 43-year-old will be looking to win a third promotion from the Championship next season having previously achieved the feat with Fulham and Bournemouth.

It was a slow start to the summer transfer window for Burnley, but they have now made four new signings, with Shurandy Sambo, Lucas Pires, Andreas Hountondji and Vaclav Hladky arriving at Turf Moor, while Johann Berg Gudmundsson has returned to the club having initially been released.
