Bent was keen to credit Calvert-Lewin, even if he was shouting at him to shoot earlier than he did.

He said during half-time on Sky Sports Premier League (19 January): “Yeah it was superb from Dominic Calvert-Lewin because this is a finish of someone who’s in rich goalscoring form and that’s not him.

“But the first touch there I’m screaming to myself ‘just hit it’ but he doesn’t. It’s the composure to be able to manipulate the ball in such a tight area.

“I know Daws’ is not happy with the defending from Tottenham but from an Everton perspective the pass from Idissa Gueye is fantastic, the weight of pass.”Sean Dyche reveals Dominic Calvert-Lewin injury setback - Sports Mole
