According to a report by Caught Offside, Jakub Moder is the subject of interest from Everton. The Toffees have been scouring the market for a midfielder heading into the winter transfer window. So, the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder has emerged as a target, and they have held talks to sign the versatile 25-year-old, valued at around £2-3 million by the Premier League club.

The rise and fall of Jakub Moder at Brighton & Hove Albion

Jakub Moder has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Brighton & Hove Albion from Lech Poznan. The Premier League club initially signed the Pole on a loan deal in the summer transfer window of 2020 before completing a permanent move a few months later.Riccardo Calafiori plan A, Jakub Kiwior plan B de la Juventus | OneFootball

While the 25-year-old has been a solid performer for Brighton & Hove Albion, fitness issues have hampered his stature in the first-team squad. Moder has barely featured for the Premier League club this season, managing only 160 minutes of game time across seven appearances in all competitions.

In addition, Moder’s four-and-a-half-year stay with Brighton is closing in on ending, as he has entered the final six months of his contract. However, a winter departure is on the cards for the 31-cap Polish international, with a few Premier League clubs, including Everton, vying for his signature this month.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Everton’s interest in Jakub Kiwior makes sense. While David Moyes has several midfielders in his squad, he must plan for the future, considering Idrissa Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucoure are on the wrong side of 30. The former, in particular, is approaching the end of his career, compelling Everton to scour the market for a midfielder.Riccardo Calafiori plan A, Jakub Kiwior plan B de la Juventus | OneFootball

So, several candidates, including Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, have emerged on Everton’s radar. However, Moder is also a viable target, with the Merseyside club holding talks to secure his services in the winter transfer window. Meanwhile, the 25-year-old Pole will not cost a bomb, with Brighton demanding around £2-3 million to part ways with him.

Brighton’s asking price makes him an affordable target for Everton, and the Toffees should have the funds to manage a deal worth £2-3 million for the versatile Polish midfielder. However, Everton might lose the battle for the player’s signature, with Feyenoord reportedly securing an agreement with Brighton.
