Crystal Palace need to up offer by €5m – Eagles bid already in
There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Crystal Palace have had an offer rejected for Slavia Prague defender El Hadja Malick Diouf.
The 20-year-old has been linked with a move to the Eagles in this transfer window, and Fenerbahce are now showing interest in the youngster.
Fotospor have reported on the latest developments regarding the future of the Slavia Prague player, and they say Crystal Palace have seen a €15m offer rejected.
It’s claimed Slavia Prague are looking for offers in the region of €20m and that Fenerbahce are the latest club to be linked with him.
The Senegal international is predominantly left back, but can also be deployed as a central defender. This would be appealing for manager Jose Mourinho given he’s keen to bring in a left back.
According to the Turkish media outlet, Slavia Prague also want the young defender to remain with them until the end of this season.
Diouf has made eight appearances this season, scoring two goals. He’s contracted to Slavia Prague until June 2028.
“That day is approaching” – Player asked about Crystal Palace wanting him, knows move is on way
Slavia Prague youngster Malick Diouf has admitted he knows a move is on the way soon, with Crystal Palace keen on his signature.
MF DNES have comments from the left-back today in which he discusses the developing transfer rumours around him.
The 20-year-old has found himself on the radar of several Premier League clubs after impressing with Slavia Prague over the last year. He joined them from Tromsø in a €2.5m deal in January 2024.
He’s gone on to make 37 appearances in total with eight goals and three assists to his name in those. He’s also made his debut in Europe, playing seven times in the Europa League.
He’s been hotly tipped as something of a rising star and Crystal Palace are keen on his signature. A report at the beginning of this month stated they’d made the first official move to sign him.
Since then, it’s been explained that they’re ready to approach the requested fee from Slavia Prague for the youngster, with their current offer around €5m short.
There is every chance that they will do that before the end of the window as they again target young players for the future this month.
Diouf is more than aware of that and admits he knows his time is coming, even if he isn’t getting over excited just yet.
“I can see what is happening around me, but I am definitely not distracted by it,” he said, when asked specifically about Crystal Palace.
“I am concentrating on myself, on Slavia, I have no reason to rush. I told my uncle, my agent, the same thing. He knows everything.
“And I know that one day I will take the next step. That day is approaching, but I have to be convinced that it is happening at the ideal moment so as not to slow down my development.”
