Sunderland player travels for medical and contract signing – Rejects 2 other clubs
Last month, we covered claims from Ukraine which stated FC LNZ Cherkasy and FC Metalist 1925 Kharkiv are keen on signing Sunderland’s Nazariy Rusyn on loan in the winter market.
The Ukrainian won’t be returning to his country and will instead join HNK Hajduk Split in January.
That’s according to TaToTake, relayed by Ukraine’s Football 24, and they provide the latest on Hajduk’s interest in the Sunderland player.
The Croatian club have made an offer to the Black Cats to sign the 26-year-old on a loan deal with an option to buy.
Régis Le Bris’ side are said to have accepted it and the report states the forward has travelled to carry out medical tests and sign his contract with Hajduk Split.
Dynamo Mania are also reporting that the Ukrainian is about to join Hajduk Split in this window. Gennaro Gattuso is currently in charge of the club, and they will sign Rusyn on a loan deal with a purchase option.
Aberdeen and Cherkasy have also shown interest in Rusyn, but he turned them down. The Sunderland man travelled to Croatia yesterday to undergo medical examinations with Hajduk Split.
Rusyn played 162 minutes from 10 games for the Championship side this season.
Sunderland AFC must do all they can to sign French cult hero
Sunderland have been one of the stories of the Championship season thus far, with the Black Cats in a great position to end their lengthy exile from the Premier League.
After the disappointment of a 16th-place finish last term – despite being among the play-off contenders at the turn of the year – Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and Kristjaan Speakman have clearly learned from their previous mishaps, and the appointment of Regis Le Bris continues to look more and more inspired as every Championship game-week passes.
The former Lorient boss has instilled a clear, front-footed and energetic philosophy into the side which remains the youngest in the division by average age, with the likes of Chris Rigg, Jobe Bellingham, Dan Neil and Anthony Patterson continuing to stand out.
