Wrexham wanted to sign Michael Smith this month but with that move likely off the cards, there are very few decent alternatives.
It emerged in mid-January that Wrexham want to sign Michael Smith following a failed approach in the summer transfer window.
The Red Dragons are on the lookout for a forward with Championship pedigree and Smith certainly fits that bill.
He may not be setting the second tier alight but six goals and four assists is still a better return than Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer have managed in League One this term.
However, despite Danny Rohl leaving Smith out of a matchday squad following links to the Welsh outfit, a move seems to be off the cards.
Reports this week confirmed Wrexham’s approach for the Sheffield Wednesday striker but also added that a deal is unlikely to happen amid comments from Danny Rohl that suggested he still needs him.
