Everton could be set for a pretty frantic end to the January transfer window.
The Toffees are yet to make a signing this month whilst all of their relegation rivals are busy adding to their squads.
So clearly, Everton can’t afford to stand still and it’s understood David Moyes is keen to get at least two signings through the door.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja’s injury has forced them to sign a striker and it seems Hamza Igamane is close to joining Everton.
And now, Orel Mangala’s season-ending injury could see them dip into the market for a replacement.
With that said, here’s the defensive midfielder Everton should sign to replace Mangala.
Everton should sign Dan Neil as Orel Mangala’s replacement
Everton have already shown an interest in Dan Neil this month after his productive performances for Sunderland.
The deal didn’t progress after the Black Cats made it clear he wouldn’t be departing for any less than £15m, but now Everton may return with an offer following Mangala’s injury.
