‘David Moyes making Beto transfer decision’ after ‘huge Everton twist’
Everton were handed a “huge boost” as Beto grabbed two goals during their 4-0 win against Leicester after extensive links to a move away from Goodison Park.
This is according to former Man United and West Ham scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the striker may have changed the club’s stance on letting him leave.
This comes after Football Insider revealed that the Toffees were looking to offload the 27-year-old during the January transfer window.
However, no deal materialised, and it has now been suggested that the striker could remain on Merseyside for the long-term future if his performances improve.
Beto played a different role against Leicester, with David Moyes‘ setup allowing him to spin an run in behind the defence and capitalise of James Garner’s range of passing.
He did so with aplomb, and has now been tipped to make the most of Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s absence to establish himself in the starting XI.
Calvert-Lewin is expected to leave Everton upon the expiry of his contract in the summer, and Brown has now claimed Beto could establish himself as a ready-made replacement.

Brown previously told Football Insider that Everton would have looked to sign a new striker with the money raised if a bid arrived for Beto in January.
Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United durinig their most successful period, insisted the opportunity is still there for him to become the number-one striker under Moyes.
“I’m delighted for David Moyes, he’s started really well there,” he told Football Insider.
“Now it looks like he’s found a way to get the best out of Beto, which will be a huge boost to them as well as a huge turnaround.
“So much of what the team does revolved around the player leading the line.
“He couldn’t buy a goal at Everton, at times he looked like he wasn’t good enough for the Premier League.
“But all of a sudden Moysey’s come in, played him in a slightly different role and you hope he can keep up the form he showed against Leicester.
“James Garner playing behind him is an excellent passer of the ball, so if he’s making positive runs he’s going to be found by him.
“The opportunity is there while Calvert-Lewin is injured for him to prove he can be the man to lead the line for Everton beyond this season.
“Especially if Calvert-Lewin leaves in the summer, that spot would open up for Beto.
“We spoke about him potentially leaving in January, but the opportunity is still there for him to prove he deserves to stay and if he keeps playing like that, they’ll have a decision to make.”

Brown told Football Insider in November that questions had been asked behind the scenes about Emerson’s performances and replacements have been assessed by West Ham’s recruitment team.
However, other positions took priority in the January transfer window and the plans to sign a new left-back have been pushed back to the summer as a result.
Following the end of the mid-season window, the club are now putting plans in place to improve Graham Potter’s squad in the summer.
Meanwhile, Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s performances since joining from Man United have eased concerns at right-back and will allow them to focus their recruitment efforts elsewhere.
