Andoni Iraola on Julio Soler and James Hill returning for Wolves game

JULIO Soler will be an option for the Cherries when they host Wolves on Saturday, with James Hill set to be assessed before the game.

The young Argentine left back has been away with his national team competing in the South American U20 Championships.

He returned from Venezuela this week after finishing second in the competition, securing qualification for the U20s World Cup.

Speaking about team news for the visit of Wolves, Andoni Iraola said he’s hopeful of the two players returning but they would wait until after Friday’s training before making any final decisions.

“I think we will recover Julio, that has come from the national team, it’s true that he arrived yesterday or at night and probably he still is not 100%, but he’s an option,” Iraola said.

“Also, Hilly has been training with us this week and we’ll see if he can make the squad.

“If not, it’s also good news because he will be available for the next games that we have. You know, next week we have three games, so it’s good that we start slowly, slowly recovering more players.”

After the visit of Wolves on Saturday, the Cherries travel to Brighton on Tuesday night, before hosting Wolves once again in the FA Cup next Saturday.

The Cherries, previously considered potential relegation candidates, can in turn dream of European football for next season.

Recent reports have pointed towards the 42-year-old as a possible replacement for Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, in the case of the Italian moving on in the summer.

On Friday, however, Iraola moved to shut down any such rumours in their tracks.

Speaking during a press conference ahead of Bournemouth’s meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers tomorrow, the ex-defender was drawn on the speculation linking him with Real Madrid.

And Iraola went on to assure:

“I don’t pay attention to these things. I’ve been in this business for many years as a player and as a coach, and I know how these things work and what matters and what doesn’t.

“For me, nothing changes. The important thing this week is tomorrow against Wolves. It’s going to be a demanding game and it will be a good opportunity for us to continue to add points.”
