Four-star 2026 Ohio State target commits to another Big Ten school

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football has hired Colin Keanu as an offensive analyst, according to a report from Football Scoop.

Keanu has spent less than a month serving as Western Illinois’ wide receivers coach. Prior to WIU, he was a graduate assistant at Nevada.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football coach Ryan Day quickly went into offseason mode after a Jan. 20 win against Notre Dame.

He lost defensive coordinator Jim Knowles to Penn State, offensive coordinator Chip Kelly to the Raiders and offensive line coach Justin Frye to the Cardinals.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — In a surprise announcement Saturday, 2026 four-star CB Victor Singleton committed to Illinois.

The talented cornerback attends Toledo Central Catholic and had long been linked to Ohio State. He’s the No. 65 overall prospect and No. 6 cornerback in the 247Sports composite, and the No. 2 player in the state of Ohio. He’s part of a loaded cornerback class in Ohio in 2026, with five-star Elbert Hill and four-star Jakob Weatherspoon (an Ohio State commit) all in-state.

Singleton’s commitment to Illinois comes as a bit of a surprise, considering his skill level and the fact that he’s an in-state target. He told cleveland.com in September that he didn’t feel the pressure to stay in-state, though, and that came to fruition on Saturday.

Ohio State still has four commitments in the 2026 class: Five-star receiver Chris Henry Jr., Weatherspoon, four-star receiver Jaeden Ricketts and four-star tight end Corbyn Fordham.

Michigan has been taunting Ohio State for quite some time now. Even though the Buckeyes won the National Championship, the Wolverines can still say that Ohio State hasn’t beaten Michigan in four years. Even though it wasn’t the season he had envisioned, head coach Sherrone Moore found the perfect way to end it with a win over the Buckeyes in the regular season finale.

Now, Michigan has another chance to “beat” the Buckeyes, but not on the football field, on the recruiting trail instead. Both schools are currently after five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, the No. 1 offensive tackle in the nation, and it seems like the Wolverines are starting to pull ahead in the race.

Cantwell has scheduled three visits in the month of March, one to Miami, one to Ohio State, and of course, one to Michigan.

The young five-star tackle made a visit to Ann Arbor late last year and his visit in March will be the final of the three he has scheduled. Talk about saving the best for last. Now, these three schools are the only three Cantwell has interest in. The young Missouri native announced his top six schools in early February with Georgia, Oregon, Missouri, Ohio State, Miami, and Michigan all on the list.
