Ange Postecoglou losing patience with £35m Tottenham player who could be sold in summer
Tottenham Hotspur have been busy in the past few transfer windows and there could be more of the same this coming summer.
Ange Postecoglou has won plaudits for his attacking style of football, which has seen some outstanding results against some big teams.
However, Tottenham have also been hamstrung by injuries that have played a big part in holding them back in terms of results this season.
Postecoglou has also shown he’s not afraid to offload players that don’t fit his style of play and, according to one report, he’s growing impatient with one of his players.
Tottenham could look to offload Yves Bissouma
The player in question is Yves Bissouma, who has been in and out of the Tottenham starting XI this season.
Tottenham are increasingly likely to sell Bissouma during the summer transfer window, according to GiveMeSport.
There are no indications that Spurs are preparing to hold discussions over a new contract with Bissouma, whose contract expires in 2026.
In addition, the report claims Postecoglou has grown impatient with Bissouma due to his injury concerns and inconsistent performances.
As a result, the £35million man is said to be among the big names Spurs will be looking to offload when the transfer window reopens.
Who could replace Yves Bissouma at Tottenham
Bissouma was brilliant for Brighton & Hove Albion, but he hasn’t been able to produce similar displays at Tottenham on a consistent basis.
Paul Merson recently described Bissouma as “inconsistent”, while Craig Burley said Bissouma was one of two “liabilities” at Spurs along with Pape Matar Sarr.
In terms of replacements, Postecoglou has Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray at his disposal, and both look set to be key midfield players for the future.
As for transfer targets, Yunus Musah is on Tottenham’s radar. He plays for AC Milan and has been working with Mauricio Pochettino in the United States setup.
Ange Postecoglou says Tottenham have a young talent who’s really ‘working hard’ to impress the coaches
Tottenham Hotspur have made a real name for themselves in recent years when it comes to giving youth a chance.
Spurs have signed some great young gems over the past few years, such as Djed Spence, Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr.
More recently, the likes of Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Wilson Odobert and Yang Min-hyeok have all signed for Tottenham.
In addition, Ange Postecoglou has been promoting academy talents, with the likes of Mikey Moore, Will Lankshear and Jamie Donley all getting a chance.
Now, Postecoglou has spoken about another Tottenham academy graduate who’s been “working hard” to try and win the Spurs first-team coaches over.
Ange Postecoglou says Dane Scarlett has been ‘working hard’ at Tottenham
The player in question is Dane Scarlett, who is now in and around the first-team after a number of loan spells away from Tottenham.
The 20-year-old has played for Portsmouth, Ipswich Town and Oxford United, the latter spell only coming to an end late in January.
Postecoglou opted to keep Scarlett at Tottenham and he has made three appearances since returning from Oxford.
The 20-year-old scored and assisted against Elfsborg in the Europa League and bagged an assist against Ipswich in the Premier League.
