Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 Preston: Liam Palmer scores rare goal to earn victory for Owls | Football News | Sky Sports

‘Exciting’ Sheffield Wednesday man has been the Owls’ best summer signing so far – Opinion

Sheffield Wednesday made 12 new signings this summer, with some mixed performances from those new arrivals so far.

Sheffield Wednesday had a huge task on their hands this summer. And their task was made more difficult following the sudden exit of Darren Moore early in the summer.

But Wednesday eventually got the bodies in and now it’s down to Xisco Munoz and his players to put some points on the board, and get Wednesday out of the bottom three.

Not all of his new players have hit the ground running though. Some have had some decent performances, some not really, whilst a few seem to be showing signs of improvement with each game.

But one player who’s caught the eye so far this season is Anthony Musaba.

Wednesday signed the 22-year-old from Monaco this summer and he’s since made five appearances in all competitions, scoring his first goal for the club in the Carabao Cup defeat v Mansfield Town last month.

The Dutchman is a player with bundles of energy and a forward-thinking mindset, highlighted in Lee Gregory’s recent commendation of the player.

And Musaba has drawn praise from the Wednesday faithful and from reporter Alex Miller too, who previously labelled Musaba as an ‘exciting’ player.

Of all the players that Wednesday have signed this summer, Musaba seems like the one who fans are most excited about and of all the summer signings, he’s the one who looks the most worthwhile so far.

There’s still a long way to go this season and many are hoping and expecting names like Djeidi Gassama and more to come good for Munoz, who could really do with his players stepping up to the plate sooner rather than later.

So far though, Musaba has shown the most promise, and when Munoz figures out how to best utilise the youngster, we could really start to see the best of him.
