West Ham Wonderkid Set For Big Summer Decision as Big Offer Looms
West Ham manager Graham Potter is understandably taking his time to assess his squad before deciding who to ditch in the Hammers’ summer sale.
And one of the very first decisions the West Ham manager will have to make is the future of Luis Guilherme. The 19-year-old Brazilian winger has said very little about his so-far underwhelming move to England. However, it was clear from his social media posts before the Premier League game against Leicester City that he believed he was going to play some part in that game.
Claret & Hugh were informed in January that the club had decided to keep the youngster and that he could expect more game time. Unfortunately for Guilherme, that just hasn’t happened, and the club’s decision not to sell or loan the player out looks worse with every passing game.
Brazilian club Flamengo made a £20m offer in January, which would have given West Ham almost all of their money back. However, the deal was rejected by Potter, who wanted to assess the player further.
Claret & Hugh have been informed by the same source who broke the news that Flamengo will be back in the summer to try and steal the youngster away. With the Hammers admitting they are desperate for money to fund new signings, a decision must be made.

After initially dismissing a couple of reports this morning linking West Ham with what has become in recent windows almost a ‘perennial’ striker solution, and no, don’t worry, his first name isn’t ‘Callum’ – I did have to scroll back, read the two reports again and wonder if there isn’t some truth in the story after all.
West Ham’s solution in the current ‘PSR-led’ cash shortage may have to be another Todibo-style arrangement, kicking the purchase a year down the road and taking a player on a season-long loan with an option to buy.
So the article by football-italia.net when taken in that context doesn’t look so implausible. Their article “Reports West Ham interested in Abraham deal with Roma: Milan stance revealed” concerning a proposal to bring Tammy Abraham to London Stadium deserves a second read.
The injury-prone striker did have big ACL issues some years ago and has struggled for match time since. The report sketches out the detail:
“According to reports from TeamTalk and other outlets in Italy, West Ham are one of several clubs interested in securing a deal for Abraham, who has been on Roma’s books since leaving Chelsea for a €40m fee in the summer of 2021.”
English born Abraham is currently loaned out at Milan but there is no purchase option and he will return, unwanted at the end of the season. 27 years old now and with his value halved since Chelsea sold him, he could be a perfect target for a season-long loan at West Ham with an option to buy at the end, allowing him to build and prove his fitness – and rebuild his career – ahead of a permanent deal.
Certainly an upgrade on ‘current striker options’ without West Ham having to spend cash until 2026: This kind of deal is the most likely – a former top quality star needing to get back his mojo like an attacking version of Aaron Wan -Bissaka could be a perfect fit at West Ham. The alternative is a major sale of one of the Hammers’ top assets -and neither Kudus nor Paquetá for differing reasons are looking particularly attractive for potential buyers just now.
