Alabama and Kalen DeBoer on verge of losing 5-star receiver to LSU
When it comes to recruiting, things can’t quite literally change any second. This is bad news for the Alabama football team. Just last week, things were trending in the right direction for Kalen DeBoer when it came to 5-star wide receiver Boobie Feaster.
Following an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa, Feaster was raving about all things Alabama and several recruiting analysts believed the Tide had moved to the top of his list. However, that all has changed following a trip to Baton Rouge.
This past weekend, Feaster, ranked five stars by Rivals and four stars by On3 and 247Sports, took his unofficial visit to LSU and things could not have gone much better for him. Things went so well, recruiting gurus Chad Simons and Steve Wiltfong both put in their predictions for Brian Kelly to land him:
Elite WR Boobie Feaster is now predicted to commit to LSU
For Alabama fans, this is not welcome news. Feaster was originally a member of the 2027 class, but he then reclassified to 2026. He immediately became one of the top WRs in the country for the ’26 group, as he’s an elite talent.
According to the 247Sports Composite, he’s the No. 6 WR in the land and No. 46 player nationally. He holds an eye-opening 50 offers to his name. Later this month, Feaster is set to take a trip to Texas to meet with Steve Sarkisian, while Oregon and Dan Lanning are also scheduled to get an UOV from him in late April.
However, now that Simmons and Wiltfong have put in their picks for Kelly to land Feaster, that could change things. After the year DeBoer and Alabama just had, the hope was that the Crimson Tide could land Feaster and get the ball rolling for the rest of the ’26 haul. Losing him to LSU would indeed be a pretty disappointing blow, especially after he just had such a great time on campus with the Tide.
