Everton midfielder Andre Gomes Fenerbahce transfer snub reason revealed with Goodison Park stay on cards
Everton midfielder Andre Gomes was rejected by Fenerbahce in the final days of the Turkish transfer window in September, according to Sporx.
The Turkish media outlet reported on Saturday (16 September) that they believed the Portugal international lacked the quality to strengthen the team.
The 30-year-old is now set to stay at Goodison Park at least until January with all the windows closed.
Bad news?
Gomes is someone not wanted anywhere and it’s a shame how his career has developed over the last few years.
He used to be a regular for the Portugal national team once upon a time and now neither Everton or Fenerbahce feel he’s good enough.

It remains to be seen what Sean Dyche’s plans are now to reintegrate him back into the squad as midfielders are going to be needed.
They did not strengthen in that area of the pitch and saw the likes of Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Tom Davies leaving in the summer.
He may still offer something to the first team and he’s on the Toffees’ payroll until January at least so it’s best if they try to get the best out of him.
His experience may help some of the younger players at Finch Farm as well so that is the silver lining.
