After ‘consideration’ from Birmingham City, an ex-Aston Villa player is closing in on a transfer.
Anwar El Ghazi finds a new club after leaving PSV, according to the most recent BirminghamLive Aston Villa news.

Anwar El Ghazi, a former star for Aston Villa, is about to sign a contract with FSV Mainz of the Bundesliga.

The 28-year-old concluded his four-year relationship with Villa last summer in order to rejoin PSV and go back to his native country. Prior to leaving the club this summer by mutual consent, he appeared in 33 games and scored nine goals for the Dutch team.

Earlier this month, El Ghazi was connected to both Manchester United and Saudi Arabia. Birmingham City, according to The Athletic, was one of the Championship teams who “considered” a bid for the winger.

After an agreement with Mainz was reached, El Ghazi is now traveling to Germany after a move to England was ruled out.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, the club has the option to extend the Dutchman’s contract for an additional year when he signs a one-year deal.

El Ghazi played 119 times in total for Claret and Blue, and he also spent time on loan at Everton.
