Neil Warnock will consider future short-term jobs after keeping Huddersfield up | The Independent

2 players who could realistically sign for Huddersfield Town in the coming weeks

Huddersfield Town are preparing for another year in the Championship with Neil Warnock at the helm.

Huddersfield Town managed to turn their season around and avoid relegation last year. Much of that turnaround was thanks to experienced boss Warnock who steadied the ship and began dragging results from unlikely fixtures.

The Terriers must make improvements this summer window to ensure they don’t face another year stuck at the danger end of the table, but so far business has been slow and despite a few names linked with a move to the club nothing yet seems imminent.

Here we take a look at two players linked with a move to Huddersfield Town who could sign for the club in the coming weeks…

Jack Hunt

Hunt, 32, is a free agent after leaving Sheffield Wednesday after last season.

The experienced defender is natural on the right side of a backline, but he can also fill in at centre back as well.

Hunt made 26 appearances for the Owls last season as they earned promotion to the second tier, but he is now searching for a new club.

Several teams are said to be interested including the Terriers with QPR and Charlton Athletic among those also monitoring the defender.

Hunt may want certain assurances when it comes to game time this season which may give the third tier clubs an edge of Huddersfield Town, but if Warnock can offer him what he wants it would be a shrewd signing for the Terriers.

Junior Hoilett

BBC World Service - Sportsworld, Junior Hoilett: 'No pressure on Canada'

The former Cardiff City winger has just suffered a relegation blow with Reading. Hoilett’s contract expired at the end of last season and Reading have offered him a new deal, but having been on international duty with Canada, his future remains undecided.

Warnock worked with the attacker during his time at the Bluebirds and it’s reported that Warnock wants to reunite with him this summer. Hoilett, 33, has struggled for form as of late, but Warnock knows how to get the best out of him and the pre-existing relationship may mean Huddersfield Town have the edge over Reading this summer.
