New Leeds manager: 'Humble' Daniel Farke states immediate aim after lengthy deal is confirmed; £10m star immediately ready to quit

LEEDS TRANSFER NEWS: BAYERN MUNICH LEANING TOWARD NUBEL DECISION

Leeds United are preparing an offer for Alexander Nubel but might only now have 48 hours to agree on a transfer with Bayern Munich against rival interest from Stuttgart.

That is according to Sky Germany, which reports that Bayern Munich want to resolve Nubel’s future in the next 48 hours. The record Bundesliga champions are also growing increasingly minded to take Stuttgart’s offer. But some distance remains before they can close any move.

Stuttgart have gained ground in the race to sign Nubel after making Bayern Munich a second bid on Wednesday. Die Roten have offered to pay Der FCB €1m (£865k) to sign the 26-year-old goalkeeper on loan. The proposed season-long deal would not feature an option to buy.

Leeds are ready to rival Stuttgart for Nubel’s transfer

Bayern Munich are yet to accept Stuttgart’s offer for a dry loan for the 2023/24 season. But Nubel is already willing to finalise the transfer after meeting with MHPArena CEO Alexander Wehrle and sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth. They assured Nubel that he will be the No1.

Wehrle and Wohlgemuth are now waiting on their Allianz Arena counterparts to decide how they wish to proceed. But Leeds may frustrate Stuttgart as Bild reports the Whites are ready to pay Bayern Munich €10m (£8.5m) to secure a permanent transfer for Nubel this summer.

It also notes that Stuttgart improved an initial €500k (£433k) offer for Nubel’s loan. But their second €1m (£865k) package includes bonus payments should the goalkeeper thrive during any dry loan move. Now, both Stuttgart and Leeds are waiting for Bayern Munich’s decision.

Bayern Munich want a decision within 48 hours

Leeds and Stuttgart may not have long to wait before knowing who has won the tug-of-war over Nubel’s transfer from Bayern Munich. The offer of a permanent transfer could help the Whites win the race. But the goalkeeper’s desires can equally support a move to Die Roten.

Reports by Kicker first noted Stuttgart’s secret meeting with Nubel last week. But it added that Bayern Munich had reduced their €15m (£13m) asking price to €8-10m (£7-8.5m) – the same sum as Leeds are now willing to pay. So, the tide could yet swing in the Whites’ favour.

Leeds agreeing on terms with Bayern Munich would give Daniel Farke a huge boost toward a transfer for Nubel. Yet the shot-stopper, who Klaus Thomforde once hailed as ‘extraordinary’, may have a big say in where he is playing next term after Stuttgart’s successful secret talks.
