Leeds United defender Max Wober update emerges as Borussia Monchengladbach close in
Leeds United defender Max Wober has been spotted in Borussia Monchengladbach’s stadium Borussia Park ahead of a potential loan move, claim Rheinische Post.
According to the German news outlet [28 July], he will be leaving Elland Road this summer, being another loan exit for Daniel Farke to deal with
Thus far, he’s seen Rasmus Kristensen, Diego Llorente, Robin Koch, Marc Roca and Brenden Aaronson depart on loan with the Austrian being the sixth one.
Just one more allowed
Victor Orta’s influence does not seem to go away as he was the one to put these ridiculous clauses in the contracts of players.
Now, because of relegation, they’re entitled to leave the club on loan with the other side having to pay the full salary.
Wober will be the sixth player to leave and FIFA rules allow only seven in a window so there’s a chance of just one more player taking advantage of this clause.
The Austrian would’ve been an immense first-team asset in the Championship and for the longest time, it felt like he was set to stay.
However, it looks like he had a change of heart and will not be at Leeds for the upcoming season.
This should mean that the club now intensifies their pursuit and looks to make another centre-back signing as soon as possible.
In other Leeds United news, an update has emerged on the club’s pursuit to sign two centre-backs this summer with a winger now on the radar as well.
