Nottingham Forest set to ‘pull plug’ on deal for Man Utd star as Ten Hag refuses to sell
Nottingham Forest could be about to walk away from a deal to sign Dean Henderson with Man Utd currently refusing to sanction his sale, according to reports.
The England international spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest with Henderson making 20 appearances for the East Midlands side in all competitions.
Henderson did not feature for Forest after January 14 with the Man Utd loanee tearing his thigh – but he did enough in the first half of the season for Steve Cooper to want him back next season.
But Football Insider now insist that Nottingham Forest ‘could be forced’ to ‘pull the plug’ on a move for Henderson this summer despite him being their ‘number one priority’.
Football Insider adds that ‘a move has been held up by Man United’s unwillingness to sanction the deal’ because of their current goalkeeping situation.
It is understood that Forest ‘could look at other targets if the Red Devils continue to hold on to the England international’ with Man Utd ‘not willing to let any goalkeepers leave the club amid uncertainty surrounding the future of David De Gea’.

Despite De Gea’s deal expiring yesterday, Man Utd still have a proposal on the table for the Spaniard but he would have to accept vastly reduced terms.
There are rumours that De Gea also has an offer from Saudi Arabia and it now looks likely that he will leave after United’s U-turn on an original agreement.
Man Utd are lining up a move for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana as his replacement with the Italian club’s CEO Beppe Marotta confirming the Red Devils’ interest on Friday.
And transfer expert Fabrizio Romano issued an update on Man Utd’s attempts to sign Onana with Inter Milan asking for upwards of €55m to get a deal done.
Romano wrote in his Caught Offside column: “Inter and Manchester United are speaking about André Onana now, there’s direct contact.
“At the moment there still hasn’t been an official bid for the keeper. United’s interest in the player is concrete and Inter expect them to bid for the 27-year-old soon, but they are very clear: €50/55m plus add-ons is the asking price. That’s an important fee for a goalkeeper and let’s see what United’s next move is on this one.
“In their favour is that Onana is open to the move, but Inter’s current position is they’re unwilling to accept less then their asking price.
“Although there have been rumours regarding Aston Villa’s Argentinian goalkeeper, Emi Martinez, making a switch to Old Trafford, I’m not aware of concrete movements as of now.
“David de Gea’s contract with the club has now finished but the Spaniard is still talking to them to try and resolve difficult situation. Club statement on Friday confirms discussions ongoing.
