Tottenham open new manager talks - Levy wants deal wrapped up soon

PSG WANT TO SIGN £12M TOTTENHAM PLAYER BUT LEVY STANCE IS AN ISSUE

Paris Saint-Germain want Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris but Daniel Levy is expecting a transfer fee.

Hugo Lloris has interest from Paris Saint-Germain this summer but getting out of Tottenham Hotspur may be tricky.

That is according to the Daily Record, who claim that PSG want to give Lloris a return to France.

The goalkeeper’s representatives are allegedly hoping to be allowed out of Tottenham on a free transfer this summer.

However, Daniel Levy has no such plans and the Tottenham chairman is seeking a transfer fee from the French giants.

That leaves a move back to France up in the air with Tottenham potentially standing in the way.

Tottenham need to move Hugo Lloris on

Hugo Lloris has been an exceptional servant for Tottenham ever since joining from Lyon for £12million back in 2012

The 36-year-old has racked up nearly 450 appearances for Tottenham, serving as the club’s first-choice stopper for more than 10 years now.

Lloris is clearly come to the end of his time as a top goalkeeper though and last season was difficult to watch in parts.

Tottenham have already signalled a changing of the guard by signing Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli.

Vicario will surely come in as first-choice stopper and it makes more sense to move Lloris on than have him sitting as a looming shadow behind Vicario.

We can understand Levy wanting a fee; Lloris is still under contract until 2024 after all.

Yet after more than a decade of service and with his first-team role diminishing, maybe waiving a transfer fee isn’t the worst idea

Hugo Lloris is a homegrown option for PSG

We had expected to see Lloris move on this summer but maybe returning to Nice or earning big money in Saudi Arabia.

PSG hadn’t really emerged as potential destination until now.

The move would surely see Lloris serve as experienced over for Gianluigi Donnarumma in the French capital.

Keylor Navas served that role for the first half of last season but then joined Nottingham Forest on loan.

Navas is expected to move on permanently and his role as a veteran stopper who can help Donnarumma develop must be filled.

A Frenchman for that role would be ideal for Champions League homegrown quota reasons and Lloris seems to fit the bill – they just need to thrash out a deal with Spurs
