WEST HAM ABOUT TO BID FOR ‘GIFTED MIDFIELDER’ WHO WANTS TO JOIN

David Moyes’s West Ham United are reportedly pressing on in their quest to sign Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse.

According to The Daily Mail, West Ham United are interested in signing James Ward-Prowse from Southampton in the summer transfer window.

The Hammers have had an initial bid of £17 million plus £3 million in add-ons for Ward-Prowse already turned down this summer.

The London club are now planning to make a second bid and will increase their offer for the 28-year-old England international midfielder.

The Daily Mail does not state how much West Ham are planning to now offer for Ward-Prowse, who was described as a “gifted midfielder” by former Tottenham Hotspur forward Garth Crooks on BBC Sport in February 2022.

The Telegraph reported in late June that Ward-Prowse is “keen on a move to the Hammers” this summer.

Southampton will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League.

West Ham will play in the UEFA Europa League next season after winning the UEFA Europa Conference League last campaign.

West Ham United could be able to sign James Ward-Prowse from Southampton

In our opinion, West Ham United could be able to sign James Ward-Prowse from Southampton in the summer transfer window.

If the Hammers make a new bid and maybe offer £30 million or £35 million, then they could be able to convince Southampton to sell the Englishman.

The Hammers are a big club that will aim to challenge for a top-eight finish in the Premier League table next season.

The chance to play for a big club such as West Ham and play in Europe could be very tempting for Ward-Prowse.

Ward-Prowse has made 343 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The midfielder has scored 49 goals and given 38 assists in those games.
