Hull City lodge double bid as Tigers ramp up transfer business
The latest transfer news from the MKM Stadium as the season nears
Hull City have lodged transfer bids for two players as head coach Liam Rosenior looks to step up his business ahead of the big kick-off at Norwich City next weekend.
The Tigers remain in the market for new additions and Rosenior has confirmed to Hull Live that bids have gone into the respective clubs, and they’re awaiting permission to speak to those players.
It’s hoped permission can be sought early this week and progress can be made before the Tigers make the long journey to Norfolk on Friday afternoon to prepare for their Championship opener.
City expect to be busy next week as they await confirmation of Benjamin Tetteh’s move to France with the striker absent from Saturday’s 1-1 draw with FC Nantes, and the arrival of Aaron Connolly.
Connolly was at the MKM Stadium on Saturday and watched on as Ozan Tufan fired the Tigers ahead on the hour mark with a well-taken strike, only to see Moses Simon crash in the equaliser 10 minutes later
The Republic of Ireland international will join Liam Delap, Ruben Vinagre and Jason Lokilo and there will be more before the window closes on September 1, and ideally in the near future.
“We’ve made offers,” Rosenior told Hull Live. “We’ve made offers on two players that I really, really like and I’m very excited by both of them.
What you have to do is time your moves right. They’re two players that are top of my list in their positions and we’re in negotiations with their clubs and the players.
“Obviously I can’t speak about them individually but if we can push those deals through, I’ll be really happy with the group
When asked if City had received positive noises from those players, he added: “Obviously, we have to go through their clubs, but I’m sure they’d be interested in coming here and joining what is such an exciting project.
“The feedback I’ve had from speaking to free agents, to speaking to players, is that there are a lot of players that want to come.
“They know what we’re building here, they know the way that we play, they know about the way Acun [Ilicali] and Tan [Kesler] have changed the energy and culture of this club, so I’m asking the supporters to just trust me, to trust Acun, that we know what we’re doing that we’ll get the right players in that suit the group to move us forward.”
