JUVENTUS ACE KEEN ON £17M NOTTINGHAM FOREST MOVE AS STRIKER TALKS ALSO BEGIN

Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso is keen on a £17 million move to Nottingham Forest as the Premier League outfit also open talks for Rosario Central striker Alejo Veliz.

With only three new players through the door – Anthony Elanga, Ola Aina and last season’s loanee Chris Wood – it’s been a far quieter summer for Nottingham Forest fans. At least compared to 2022’s remarkable recruitment drive.

That does not mean, however, that Steve Cooper’s side are destined to play a spectator’s role during the final month of the window.

A new left-back remains the priority; Renan Lodi gone, Omar Richards not yet ready to return, and Harry Toffolo facing a potential FIFA ban (The Guardian). Forest are in talks with Monaco’s Ismail Jakobs, but he is not the only name in the frame at the City Ground.

Andrea Cambiaso, Calciomercato report, is ‘listening with interest’ as Nottingham Forest come knocking on Juventus’ door. The Serie A giants are willing to let the Italy U21 international go. And a rumoured £17 million price-tag will not put off the deep-pocketed Midlanders.

The versatile Cambiaso, who can also play on the right, set up three goals in 32 games on loan at Bologna in 2022/23. His agent admitted last week, meanwhile, that a fresh start and a clean break could be on the cards so long as Juventus are presented with sizeable offers.

“Juventus strongly wanted him. They put a lot of money on the table. They will certainly make their own assessments,” explains Giovanni Bia, who once likened Cambiaso to the legendary Paolo Maldini.

“And I think they will also ask for a lot of money. Last week, some teams approached me, and I think something will happen here too.

“But Juventus won’t be deprived of him easily

Forest, according to Gianluca di Marzio, are also in for Rosario Central starlet Alejo Veliz. The 19-year-old striker scored 11 goals in 23 games last season.

He is also a target for AC Milan, with Rosario holding out for £13 million.
