Crystal Palace Medical test booked as Joachim Andersen set for Crystal Palace exit

Crystal Palace centre-back Joachim Andersen is on his way to leaving Selhurst Park this summer.

The Eagles had initially set an asking price of £40 million for the 28-year-old defender, but they have agreed a deal with Fulham for a fee of around £30 million.

The Cottagers had an early bid rejected for Anderson, but Fabrizio Romano says that Palace have accepted the offer from their Premier League rivals.

The player’s new agents are currently working on personal terms, and Andersen will leave Selhurst Park to move to Fulham.

Medical tests are booked for the defender who was ever-present for the Eagles last season in the Premier League.

Andersen spent one season on loan at Craven Cottage from Lyon in 2020-21. He made 31 appearances in the Premier League that season and now will return to his old club on a permanent basis

Fulham are also expecting to complete the signing of Sander Berge on Wednesday (21 August).

Romano wrote on X: “Joachim Andersen to Fulham, here we go! Deal in place for £30m package as Andersen’s new agents are completing personal terms details.

“Medical tests booked, Andersen will leave Crystal Palace to join Marco Silva’s project. Fulham also count on Sander Berge to sign today.”

Crystal Palace will need to sign new defenders

Andersen has been a key player for the Eagles over the years, and losing him will be a blow for the club.

The Eagles will need to sign a new defender in the final few days of the transfer window, irrespective of what the future holds for Marc Guehi.

Newcastle United have made several bids to sign the Palace defender, but the Eagles have refused to lower their asking price for the England defender.

Palace have already lined up an alternative for Andersen. The Eagles are now expected to make a move for Wolfsburg centre-half Maxence Lacroix to bring him at the club in the next few days.
