Barcelona confirm goodbye ceremony to be held for Sergi Roberto - Barca Blaugranes

West Ham United ready for another top talented star paperwork after transfer twists with Aaron Wan-Bissaka Still, though…

West Ham have all the paperwork in place to seal the signing of Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian transfer specialist reported via his personal X account [12 August] that the 26-year-old defender will complete his medical on Monday 12 August after facing a delay on Sunday 11 August [Dharmesh Sheth].

Wan-Bissaka had yet to finalise his exit terms at Old Trafford, with still a year remaining on his current contract, but those issues look to have been resolved ahead of the transfer.

It is understood that the full-back has now had his medical authorized at the London Stadium, with the Hammers set to pay £15million for the Man United man.

At last, Julen Lopetegui looks to have sealed another transfer after signing Jean-Clair Todibo, Guido Rodriguez, Niclas Fullkrug and Crysencio Summerville since the beginning of August.

Add those to Wes Foderingham, Max Kilman and Luis Guilherme, and the Spaniard has quietly completed an overhaul of the squad at the London Stadium, ready for the new Premier League season.

The defence has been one of the biggest concerns heading into the summer, and those worries look to have been addressed with two star centre-backs and, soon, a new right-back.

Kurt Zouma could also be on his way out of the club, leaving just Nayef Aguerd and Konstantinos Mavropanos as the remaining centre-backs from last season, though his exit has now stalled [Florian Plettenberg].

Wan-Bissaka will add plenty of reinforcement to both full-back positions, with the ability to deputise on either flank and will, hopefully, push Vladimir Coufal and Emerson to be even better.

Given that Man United once signed him from Crystal Palace for £50million [BBC Sport], fans will be buzzing to see the 26-year-old arrive at the London Stadium before the 2024/25 campaign kicks off.

In other West Ham news, the door has been opened to sign Sergi Roberto as a free agent.

Zouma’s previous injury appearing during the medical examinations led to certain aspects of his contract being altered, but Zouma did not sign the new terms and has returned to the UK.

Shabab Al-Ahli had been the leading club in the race to sign the out-of-favour centre-back [Santi Aouna, 6 August], but with the deal now in jeopardy, Zouma remains a Hammers player for the time being.

While Zouma’s exit from the London Stadium is by no means dead in the water, his injury history coming to a head in his Shabab Al-Ahli medical suggests that moving him on will not be the easiest of tasks.

Despite having captained the Irons last season, Zouma is quite clearly not in the plans of Julen Lopetegui for the new season and thus was given the green light to complete a transfer away.
