Report: 'Preparing an official offer' – Liverpool Defender Linked with Shock Move to West Ham | OneFootball

Liverpool ace Joe Gomez development emerges as West Ham United eye transfer

West Ham should not worry about the patellar tendon rupture sustained by Joe Gomez in the past if they are to sign the Liverpool defender, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims it also helps that the England international played under Jurgen Klopp and given the German’s pressing style, it will have helped the 27-year-old become even fitter.

This comes after Sean Whetstone reported on 7 August that the Hammers want to sign the centre-back, who can also play as a right-back, from Liverpool and any deal will cost them £45million.

Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said:

He’s had a major injury, which was a patellar tendon rupture but has come out of it quite well.

Additionally, playing for Liverpool and the type of fitness and mental strength required under Jurgen Klopp also bodes quite well.

The club will be assessing that physical capacity along with his off-pitch habits but as far as last season’s availability goes, it’s definitely a signing that any club would consider.

West Ham do not need to sign Joe Gomez

The Hammers already secured Jean-Clair Todibo and Max Kilman’s signings in the centre-back positions.

Additionally, Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s signing covers the right-back role.

Gomez, priced at £45million, would be a luxury the club cannot afford, given their investment in other areas.

His cost doesn’t justify the need when they’ve already addressed their defensive needs with more cost-effective, high-potential signings.

In other West Ham news, the club have been attacked for issuing an “outrageous” statement that will be extremely unpopular with the fans.

The 22-year-old scored eight goals and assisted 16 in a total of 51 appearances last season as Leeds missed out on an immediate Premier League return after relegation. Rutter played 28 minutes in Wednesday night’s 3-0 Carabao Cup defeat against Middlesbrough at Elland Road.

The Frenchman’s departure would be another major loss for Leeds who have lost Archie Gray and Crysencio Summerville to Tottenham and West Ham respectively.
