Gary O’Neil handed boost in Aaron Ramsdale pursuit as stance on Wolves move now emerges
Wolves are targeting Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale this summer as Gary O’Neil eyes further reinforcements ahead of deadline day.
So far, the Old Gold have welcomed Rodrigo Gomes, Pedro Lima and Jorgen Strand Larsen to the squad, with plenty of work yet to be done
After offloading Pedro Neto to Chelsea, Gary O’Neil shared that he would re-enter the transfer market to bolster Wolves’ options going forward.
While a replacement for the Portuguese winger is in the works, it’s also come to light that the manager is hoping to acquire a new goalkeeper this summer.

Aaron Ramsdale wants to work with Gary O’Neil at Wolves
Wolves have enquired about Aaron Ramsdale as the Arsenal goalkeeper looks to move away from North London before deadline day.
It’s understood that the Old Gold are in talks with the Gunners over a possible loan deal with a buy option inserted, as per an update courtesy of David Ornstein.
Wolves fans are cautious of Ramsdale, who is a West Brom supporter however, the Englishman’s thoughts on a move to Molineux may surprise many.
According to GIVEMESPORT, the Arsenal ‘keeper likes the idea of working with O’Neil and admires the manager’s ‘vision and personality in the dugout’.
It’s added that while the 26-year-old sees a move to Wolves as a ‘step down’ due to there being no European football, he is ‘desperate’ to get back to playing regularly to bolster his claim to become England’s number one.
Now that Ramsdale’s stance on a possible move to Wolves has been made clear, it will be fascinating to see if Arsenal and the Old Gold can come to a financial agreement.
Wolves interest in Ramsdale is a surprise
Ramsdale made just six appearances in the Premier League last season as he fell down the pecking order at Arsenal.
The arrival of David Raya in North London saw the £120k-a-week shot-stopper’s playing time deteriorate, with a move now on the cards.
While Ramsdale is a highly-rated ‘keeper, Wolves’ interest is rather confusing, given that the England international is pushing for a transfer due to his desire to play regularly.

It would be bizarre to see the 26-year-old arrive at Molineux and take Jose Sa’s throne, with the Portuguese ace being O’Neil’s firm number one at present.
Competition is welcomed of course, however, that would not suit Ramsdale’s current situation, making links between the Englishman and Wolves a strange prospect.
It will be fascinating to see how the interest plays out, particularly now that the Arsenal outsider has made his thoughts on joining Wolves known.
