Rosenborg winger Carlo Holse is reportedly a transfer target for Blackburn Rovers.

Reports from Norway suggest that Rovers are battling Bodø/Glimt for the 24-year-old’s signature this summer. Holse is said to have rejected a new contract at Rosenborg, having signed for the Eliteserien club in 2020 from FC Copenhagen. In his four seasons at Rosenborg, Holse has scored 22 goals in 100 appearances.

The club’s 2021 Player of the Year now faces an uncertain future though, with Bodø/Glimt – Gregg Broughton’s old club – looking to replace Hugo Vetlesen. Holse is under contract until 2024 and was linked with Serie A side Genoa last year.

He came through the youth ranks at Copenhagen and had a loan spell with Esbjerg fB in 2019. Holse has represented Denmark at under-16 level all the way up to under-21s, while he earned a call up to the senior squad in November 2020. Holse did not get off the bench, though, for the match against Sweden.

Rovers have already explored the European market this summer, with success. After Governing Body Endorsement restrictions were eased, the Ewood Park side brought in Arnór Sigurdsson on loan from CSKA Moscow and Sondre Tronstad from Vitesse. Blackburn have also been credited with an interest in South Korea forward Cho Gue-sung – who is reportedly heading to FC Midtjylland.
